I think all the time about the Nova Scotia farm.
Nova Scotia keeps popping out at me from various conversation and media. I think I’m headed there. I often get the urge to leave the cloud of ambiguous memories that lurk around here, that pop up like moles unexpectedly. On the other hand, I’ve learned the value of community and building long-term relationships as never before. I’m always drawn to the new, especially in this case the sense that there will be a curve advancing on the Maritimes of young, resourceful people who can’t afford it out here any more, and are seeking a different kind of lifestyle. I think “there” will be the next “here”, in some way, and community of the sort I’m used to will emerge there too.
