Oh yes, we are back from Iceland
Iceland II, complete. In a way I think I got Iceland out of my system. I don't feel the frantic urgency to return as soon as possible, but if the opportunity arises, I will definitely go again. Perhaps for another season. We've done fall; winter, check; maybe summer next time.
66.5N, here we come!
Shortly after takeoff, a window in the next row fell out. It just plopped in onto the seat.
First day of our second month in Iceland
Freezing rain, sleet, and prevailing headwind. Pretty comfortable; far better than rain and 75 kmh gusts.
Raptor stage
They're not cute anymore. They're in their awkward, ugly stage; plenty of feathers yet not quite enough. They look raggedy, a little half-plucked.
Riot in Vancouver
There was a different quality to the night once darkness fell. The choppers droned circles in the smoky haze, their spotlights flickering on the ground. The police loudspeakers droned a recording over and over "...chemical agents will be deployed". People were jumping both ways over the fences, to join the fray or to avoid it. It was dreamlike, and people lined the fences, staring, the car fires as mesmerizing as campfires.

I may not make a blog post every day, but at least I Insta.
